Answers – what to expect
How your answer will look
- Your answer will contain your question, a list of search terms, the date
on which the search was carried out, full references for the evidence that
we find, and a critically appraised summary.
- The complete answer will be
given on 2-3 sides of A4.
- We will try to use plain English, but please use
the link to the EBM
glossary for any unfamiliar terms.
Receiving your answer
- Your answer will be e-mailed to you and posted on our website within
10 days of receipt of your question.
- If you require the full text of sources
of evidence, please contact us directly.
Keeping up-to-date
- After one year, answers on this site will be clearly marked as potentially
not representing current evidence.
- You can request an update of your, or,
any BEST in MH answer, whenever you like by completing the online
enquiry form and typing ‘update’ in
the context section.
Questions we can’t answer
If we cannot answer your question, due to lack of evidence, we will tell
you and notify the relevant bodies, e.g. The Cochrane Collaboration, DUETS.
The funding for this service has now ceased so we are unable to accept new questions. Please search our
answers database for details of previously answered questions. These answers are not updated, so please note the date each was prepared.
This web site will remain available, but it will no longer be updated.
